In memory of Gramma Tala

26th November 2016

Hey everyone, this section here is where you can talk about your loved one, what their passions were (passionate baker, builder, sparky, entrepreneur, professional sportsperson  etc), if they had children, siblings, who their parents were, their pets, bestfriends, anything you’d like to add for the next generation to read. This page is purely for an example of what the page looks like. I’ll start off with introducing Gramma Tala from the movie ‘Moana’ below.

Gramma Tala is an eccentric storyteller from the island of Motunui, she is the mother of Chief Tui and grandmother of Moana. Because of her passion for ancient Polynesian myths and legends, Tala is referred to as the “village crazy lady.”

She loved sea exploration and is from an ancestry of South Pacific navigators. Referred to as the keeper of the ancient stories, as she knew her ancestors, heritage and culture. Her one dream is to embed the culture into Moana to someday see her people return to their former greatness as master way finders. Polynesians are natural story-tellers and Gramma Tala was the perfect example of passing the torch to the next generation. Everyone has a story to tell and hers is only beginning.
