In memory of Simone Muaimalae Tetevano-Tuia
Simone, at 33 years young, held a remarkable place in our hearts and our family. As the eldest daughter of Wayne and Moevao Tetevano, she was the loving and guiding big sister to Sakaio, Paige, and Ahutoa. Simone’s life was deeply rooted in her rich heritage, and she was immensely proud of her Samoan, Tokelauan, and Cook Island ancestry. As the first granddaughter of Emosi Filipo & Mere-Sieni Lisepa Leauga , Simone carried the strong name Muaimalae, a name passed down from a lineage of strong women from her Tokelaun side. She embraced her role as being the eldest daughter & granddaughter with grace and devotion.
Simone shared a boundless love with her husband, Paul, and together they nurtured a beautiful family of five children Koby, Phillip, Syrenity, Sililoa & Marli. Simone’s strength and values were her greatest gifts to her children. Her affection for her family knew no bounds, and her joy in their company was evident in the brightness of her smile and the infectiousness of her laughter. A sound you could hear from a mile away, her laugh was a testament to her vibrant spirit and the happiness she brought into our lives.
Fearless and headstrong, Simone was a protector like no other. She stood firm in the face of adversity, never allowing disrespect towards herself or her loved ones. As a God fearing woman, her unwavering faith guided her actions, and she always let her faith lead the way.
Simone was very proud to come from many cultures, however she was one proud kuki…& she made sure everyone knew it ! Her love for Cook Island dancing was no secret & she never missed an opportunity to hula. She found joy in dancing and served cultural pride through her every movement.
Simone was always one call away for her siblings & cousins growing up, her protective nature ensuring that no harm would come their way. As the eldest daughter, Simone stood as the rock for her parents and was always there to help out. Simone’s deep love for Paul and their children was the cornerstone of her life, a testament to the undying power of love and family. She was a proud Aunty, a loving niece , a loyal cousin and a beautiful friend to many.
Simone’s life was a beautiful tapestry of cultural pride, faith, family, and unwavering strength. In honoring her memory, we celebrate the legacy she left behind in her children, the laughter she spread, and the love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Rest in peace our dear Simone, and thank you for the light you brought into our lives. We love and miss you always.
